Iberia Plus is offering 700 bonus Avios to its members who make an online purchase through its online shopping portal during the month of October 2021.

In order to earn these bonus Avios, you must make TWO separate purchases of 5 euros or more. A qualifying transaction is where at least one Avios is earned from a single transaction and where at least €5 (£4.25) are spent, excluding shipping, handling and VAT. It is, of course, annoying tricky to figure out whether a €5-7 purchase will track through at €5 or more…

Isn’t the IberiaPluStore Only Available in Spain?

It is… but that doesn’t mean that you must be physically located in Spain.

You can find the IberiaPluStore by choosing Spain in the dropdown box located in centre of the top row of the Iberia website.

 

The IberiaPluStore will then become an option within the IberiaPlus dropdown menu.

But Won’t These Merchants Only Ship to Spain?

Indeed… the vast majority of the available merchants will only ship to Spain, or will charge much more for international shipping.  But in my experience the Book Depository is actually based in the UK, and will happily ship your book to you in the UK at no added cost.

The Bottom Line

Am I 100% sure that this promotion would work for a UK reader buying two £5+ books in two separate transactions?  Honestly… no…  and because the T&Cs mention “Spain only” there would be no recourse available for you.

But I do think it will work just fine, especially if your Iberia Plus account is registered to a Spanish address. (always a good idea, since many promotions are limited to Spanish members) The delivery address of your purchase is almost certainly going to be irrelevant.

And if it doesn’t quite work properly, an avid reader has done nothing more than purchase a couple of books hopefully worth reading…
