I outlined yesterday a very competitive UK deal at Village hotels. As part of my current run of recommending UK budget chains (don’t say I don’t look after you), today I focus on…Travelodge.

Ok, it’s Travelodge. However, it’s the London Tower Bridge Travelodge, and at £29.99 for one night for two people, it’s spectacular value.

What’s the deal?

You can currently stay at the Travelodge Tower Bridge on the following dates for just £29.99 for two people:

• 26 Sep
• 3 Oct
• 10 Oct
• 17 Oct
• 24 Oct
• 31 Oct
• 7 Nov
• 14 Nov
• 21 Nov
• 28 Nov

Note that save for the first date (30 August), all the above are Sunday night stays.

You can also bolt on breakfast at £9.25 per guest and dinner at £12.50 per guest. So that’s an option of dinner, bed and breakfast for two people in very central London, for £73.49 in total.

Ok, it’s dinner at the Travelodge – so probably best to avoid on silver wedding anniversaries or similar, but this is a good deal. Given the dubious quality of many of the restaurants in the central London tourist areas, it’s far from the worst option.

Anything else?

Yes, if you book a Travelodge hotel in any of London, Cardiff or Edinburgh by 20 August and stay 5 (or more) nights, you’ll get the cheapest night free.

Per the image above, this is limited to stays until 25 August so you only have two weeks remaining, but it is worth a look if you’ve got a summer break planned.
