Marriott Bonvoy has released details of the promotion that will run from 7 February until 23 April, 2023.
Members can earn:
- 1,000 bonus points per night
- Double elite night credits

With Marriott Bonvoy promotions, only paid stays qualify. Cash + Points, Free Night Awards (certificates) and points redemptions DO NOT COUNT.
Is it Any Good?
A double elite night credit promotion certainly helps members interested in reaching Platinum status or higher. Platinum status requires 50 nights in a year.
1,000 bonus points works out to £6-7 per night. That might be a reasonable rebate on cheap hotel stays, but it certainly won’t incentivise you to choose Marriott for an expensive stay.
Bottom Line
Marriott ran a double elite night promotion in early 2022 as well. It must work well as a way of driving early-in-the-year stays from the status conscious…
But now that my lifetime status has been safely acquired, that incentive no longer works for me… What about you? Let us know in the comments section…
Is a mattress run worth it?

Not for 1,000 points per night obviously.
I’m not sure if Platinum is worth doing more than a couple of mattress runs. But this is a great time to do some staycations or weekend getaways.

Yes, but the point is this… If you are staying often enough in hotels to receive value from the elite status, then you are already earning the status organically.
Platinum for 25 doubled nights is great, but it requires you to spend enough nights in a Marriott hotel this year and next to make all of the free breakfasts, lounge access, bonus points, etc. worth it… (in which case you might not have needed to do mattress runs in February)
