Topcashback Summer Treats competition

TopCashBack's seasonal "find the hummingbird" competition is back! This time it's called "Summer Treats", but the idea's the same. Click around on their site, and eventually you'll find a hummingbird. One clue is given each day for somewhere you'll find it, otherwise seems a bit (but not fully) random

Just finding the hummingbird isn't enough, but winning a quid or so is fairly easy. I'm at 20p winnings so far...

I waste so much time on these stupid things!

Topcashback site seems to be struggling today, I keep seeing the oops message a picture of a dog, or waiting ages for the game banner to load.

Anyway, 10p pocketed so far.

If you want a lazy way of figuring out today's clue, just check the list of Trending merchants, the top one is almost always today's featured retailer. Then just drop in a couple of times throughout the day and click random retailers, as you usually get extra hummingbirds littered around the site.

I made nothing from RIde the Wave. Despite only playing it a couple of times, I thought it was brilliant and would love to see a return.

 

The top trending thing only seems to apply by late morning. Earlier than that, if you check their facebook page, people will have commented there to say which one it is

Not to mention a third of the way to 50p!

I took part in TCB's very first Hummingbird competition in late 2016. I spent a huge amount of time on it. There were eight categories of sweets and you had to collect all the sweets in each category to win something. WIthin a week I'd collected most of them and was one sweet short in every category. I was on to a winner, I thought.

I then spent the next two months searching and found not a single sweet. Oh, I found plenty of hummingbirds, but these just gave 'extra chances' to win the big prize in the competition, which, needless to say, I didn't win.The whole thing was a complete waste of time.

The designers of these competitions are experts at dragging you in and keeping you playing. TCB just wants loads and loads and LOADS of hits on their website. But the fact remains, you won't win much more than pence unless you're incredibly lucky. I don't know anyone who ever did.... I'd pack it in if I were you!

My £3 bonus earned this weekend went straight to 'payable' this morning. Minimum effort, maximum reward - now that's the kind of TCB promo I like! Infinitely preferable to hummingbirds!

 

The hummingbirds are back! I'm 25% of the way to £100 on the first day! This is my time, I can feel it!
