Earlier today IHG sent me an email with the subject "Summer Flash Sale live now! Hurry up and save up to 25% across Europe via IHG® App" which opened with the following interesting offer:
Whoops!
Dear Nick,
Due to a technical error, you may have had trouble registering for our
promotion. Our apologies, we’ve now fixed the issue.
You can now register for our promotion to win 1 of 10 Amazon gift cards
worth £100 when you download the IHG app.
If you’ve already downloaded our App don’t worry all you need to do now is
register. If you’ve not downloaded, there’s still time to download and
register.
Unfortunately, when I click through, it just takes me to a page about the summer flash sale. If I view the email online, there's no mention of this promotion, again it's just about the summer flash sale. The app promotion is only mentioned in the plain text part of the email.
So, my best guess is that IHG are running a promotion for getting or using the app, possibly targetted, but in usual IHG incompetence have sent out half the wrong email to some people!
Don't suppose anyone got this half of the email with a working registration link for the offer that they could share?
