Heads up for a Tesco points deal. 1000 cc points on ink cartridge purchases. Should have been 100 apparently... Some people are going berserk and spending hundreds. One gent in the HFP comments had his massive order refunded after 20 mins. I have bought just the one at £19. Hopefully it goes through. https://www.tesco.com/direct/specia...points-on-selected-hp-ink/promo47040089.promo Kudos to HFP for spotting it.
I have been looking at sites every day this week and nothing happens, then when I stop looking, something *does* happen Fortunately this deal is still ongoing.
It was posted on PTS @ 9am this morning, by 12 it was on as a newsflash article on HFP. Problem is people have gone silly and ordered 25 inks and had orders cancelled and refunded. Now it's as low as 10 inks are being cancelled. If you do order these, do it in small batches like 2 or 3 at a time.
The £19 cartridges are still available. Judging by comments, if you order at least four you stand a good chance of getting your order cancelled, although some have gotten through. If Groupon don't fix their Avios blunder then this deal will be a nice consolation prize!
The gent who put through two orders of ten each will surely be cancelled. Probs only the early ones ordered at bulk volume will have gotten through. I've considered putting through another order but I think I'll stick to one to be on the safe side. And besides, I'm not made of money
Incredibly, there are still £19 cartridges available. Tesco hasn't bothered to correct the clubcard points... I wonder why? Contrary to what I said earlier, it seems bulk buying for some is working. They are getting tens of thousands of air miles and will likely make all the cash back from ebay (these cartridges do sell). This is probably the deal of the year for UK air mile collectors. That it's still going on 12 hours later is astonishing.
I bought 4. Different printer types. £12-15 range. Seems to have gone through fine and credit card charged... Now fingers crossed that my particular re-selling strategy still works...
Various inks have different resale values, best look up sold prices on ebay. Problem is the race to bottom has already started so prices being reduced by the hour to sell. If you can, keep them and sell later on when the market has recovered.
48 hours on and this offer continues. I've got the points for my first cartridge, and I put through another order so hopefully will get those today. One of the HFP regulars had 25k CC points put in his account this morning.... staggering!
Tesco finally shut the offer down at lunchtime. So, did anyone go big and max out their Tesco quarters? (30k)
No, I umhd and ahhd about it too long really. There was only the £19 ones left by the time looked into it properly and in the end I didn't really fancy the hassle/risk of reselling en masse. If I had gone for it though, I'd probably have done at least one account's full quarter, yes - I don't mind doing a bit of work for Points/Miles but I like it to be scaleable these days. What was everyone else's final tallies?
Very nice! I've been far too slack re Tesco for ages now (think I'm down to my last ~£150 of vouchers!) and am completely out the loop with stuff. What did you fill up with earlier in the Q?
Now tv boxes, lego etc. It's my best Q in 8 x years of collecting clubcard points. 144k avios for next to nothing!
Fantastic! - feel free to PM me (please!!!) if you spot anything decent as I really should replenish the Tesco stocks. I promise to keep it off the blog whenever you prefer, of course.
Clubcard conversions to VA reportedly coming with a bonus 10% at present. Not on clubcard page but on the VA page. Supposed to be only applicable for first time conversions but I have read this is not the case, plenty non first timers getting bonus also.
