Has anyone else seen the reports that Ryanair have put a bid in for Alitalia? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-40702493 Only one of 10 bidders (so far) apparently, so probably won't happen, but still seems a bit odd!
I did the Alitalia status match last year so that I'd have something if I needed Aeroflot (long story). Anyway, their IT is strange. A few times my account details log me into other people's accounts where I can see transactions, personal details etc. Ryanair need to be careful. Caveat emptor seems apt. I now need to check myself into hospital for speaking out, protecting Ryanair.
Haha, I wouldn't worry about Ryanair getting into trouble - more that the dodgy IT might give them some new ideas on how to make the passenger experience even more irritating.
I suspect that Ryanair are just fishing for information. If a sales process is being run properly, potential buyers will get to have a good look at the underlying numbers. Otherwise nobody would invest... So any clued-in company will sign up to most tender processes in their sector, to see what they can find. There's absolutely no way Ryanair want to deal with those unions when they already have a big piece of the Italian market.
Can't think that any airline would want to touch Alitalia at the moment. Or even Air Berlin. Or even BA
I would gladly swap the top man in Alitalia for Cruz.... if they want to cut costs he's a perfect match.
If you fly Alitalia from City with the Embraer 190, it's very sweet. They treat you very well and the seats have more legroom than on A320s
