Ryanair will be starting 34 new routes at Frankfurt in 2018. Something for Lufthansa to be concerned about I'd guess.
Ryanair quietly introduced a Manchester->Frankfurt service in March, six days a week. Previously you had to get the Lufthansa service which cost £100 approx so it's serious competition for them. Ryanair flights cost £14.99 so why bother to spend £££ on Lufthansa?
Useful for positioning to Frankfurt. Especially if you want to try out their First Class terminal.
