Marriott list 12 months' complimentary Hertz #1 Gold membership as a benefit of Platinum status, but when I click through to the Hertz site, it tells me that Hertz Gold Plus is free anyway. Am I missing something?
It used to not be, but they changed it about 2-3 years ago Many, but not all organisations that used to give free entry level Hertz Gold status then switched to offering Hertz Gold 5 Star, which is the middle tier. 5* should get you upgrades in some situations, but sadly you rarely do... Presidents Circle is the one you really want It's worth signing up for even the base level though, if renting in the USA, as you'll be able to skip lots of queues and go straight to your pre-prepared car in the parking area and escape quickly! Can save a tiny bit of time elsewhere in the world, but not as much
