This deal's been going for a fair while now, but worth remembering. Only applies to Anytime Return tickets in first class. You will pay £31.05 for an Anytime Return in standard class, and £56 in First Class, so you're effectively paying £24.95 for the First Class upgrade and lounge access. Of course you only need to show the confirmation email to get in the lounge, so you could in theory book, receive the confirmation email, and then cancel for a refund (which is subject to a £10 admin fee). That means you're paying £10 for the lounge access, but it's also being a bit dodgy too
I've heard that the lounges in LGW (and Manchester) often turn PriorityPass customers away due to being full. On their website they suggest that PriorityPass customers might want to pay a small fee in advance (I believe it's a fiver?) to book a reserved place You'd probably be a bit miffed if you paid an extra 25 quid for a first class ticket expecting lounge access too, only to be turned away due to them being full. Anyone know if first class train ticket holders come above or below PriorityPass members in the No.1 Traveller "we're quite full today" pecking order?
No idea, but you get the feeling that someone clutching an email print-out train ticket is unlikely to be at the top of anyone's pecking order.
