A few things I've noticed with Flybe at Southend lately... They have some new routes starting at Southend Airport later this year, operated by Stobart Air - Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin. There's a competition to win a free return flight to one of these destinations if you sign up to their newsletter. Ends 22 September. Link here: http://apps.3cc.london/heart?utm_source=website&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=heart There's also an offer whereby if you are travelling to one of these destinations from Heathrow or Gatwick, and are delayed by 30 minutes, you can contact Southend Airport and they will give you a free return flight.... that's if you are one of the first 1000 people to make such a claim successfully. This offer started 14th August but the promo page is still online, so you never know. http://southendairport.com/about/free-return-tickets Next, Flybe have a sale on at the moment, and they are offering flights from Southend to Dublin for £15.99 from October 29th. I had a look and availability is huge. Same price to Milan Malpensa. Reus and Cologne. There are other destinations at slightly higher prices. These prices are very very good for Flybe... shame it's not across their whole network! I realise 'London Southend Airport' is not an airport that many members here frequent, but there you go. Yes, it's nowhere near London, but some of you might fancy trying it out with these offers.
They have their uses - particularly for domestic travel. And the prices above are a lot lower than usual.
Can anyone help, I'm looking for flights on flybe out of Southampton but searching on avios or baec I cannot find any availability to anywhere, is Southampton and excluded flybe avios redemption route?
Cheers for looking. It was to Europe but the day I searched different destinations on flybe from there it couldn't display any dates so I assumed for some reason Southampton was not inc in avios flybe redemptions. I will go and search again...
Just had a look at the next few weeks and I can see availability mostly on Sundays. Nothing on weekdays, though.
Ditto. But I tried ba.com and they have availability. I just found an old HFP article that suggested there is a great disparity between both sites when it comes to availability.
How did you search as when I use my baec account it doesn't pick up Southampton or SOU in the search tool?
Yes, when you start typing, BA.com usually shows a list of destinations and you select one. It doesn't show a list when you type Southampton, presumably because it's not on a BA route.. However, ignore that, carry on and it will still pull up the Southampton flights.
Cheers but what ever search bar I use in my baec account it doesn't find sou or Southampton or if i type it in it won't allow me to go any further. Strange as we found atleast one date on avios.com?
Here's how I did it Log into BAEC Executive Club->My Executive Club Select Book With Avios Type in Southampton Select one-way Type in Faro Select Sat 5th May 2018
God knows with BAEC! Done all that, it thinks about it and then returns an error page message (bang head against wall)...
I've tried both one way and return (on 12th May) and both economy and business. Still works. Though choosing business will still only load economy. I'm using Chrome - maybe it's something browser related??
