We collect thousands of Etihad miles by both having their MBNA Credit Cards. When using them I have not have a problem. We book our holiday with a travel agent in Glasgow UK, get a locator number. I then contact Etihad in Manchester, which is easy, they always very quickly answered the telephone. I once tried contacting Etihad Customer Service whilst in Abu Dhabi, you have on for ever, you get through to various other places in the world, cannot understand them, they say they will look into the problem and call you back, or email you back they never do. The women in this department are extremely rude, unpassion and unprofessional. Once I get a locator number I telephone Manchester Etihad, who are extremely helpful, quite chatty and will move mountains to help. We always then select the best day both ways to use the Etihad miles. = never had a problem
Thanks for your thoughts Raffiella, and welcome to the forum! Yes, the UK Etihad call centre does seem to be an accessible and helpful resource. I've been phoning them regularly, with no success as yet on my attempted upgrade, but persistence may just pay off. Which reminds me, I need to call Etihad...
So Etihad called me out of the blue today. "Hello Tom, we're pleased to say your flight is now available for upgrade. Are you ok for us to use your points to progress this". "That's great news. Yes, of course, please use my points to upgrade". "Ah hang on, no, let me check. Ah yes the upgrade is actually not available. I'll have to call you back... in a few days... if the upgrade is available..."
Haha, that's impressive customer service. Maybe a little too proactive on this occasion, but I certainly admire their enthusiasm!
Nicely remembered Yes - I managed to get a points upgrade at reception in the Abu Dhabi lounge, an hour or two prior to the (previously non-upgraded) Abu Dhabi to London flight.
Hi there. I did't like my Etihad flight experience, maybe that's why my bonus miles didn't come to my account till now)))
Emirate's reward scheme is awful though sadly. And I hate their rules about point pooling..basically it has to be done before the points get credited, else they get stuck in whichever family members account they are.
Yes been there myself! Shame because their actual flights are great, but its things like this that leave a sour taste.
