I am surprised that when I am logged in, I still have to enter contact details when I want to comment on an article/news story (i.e. not in the forums).

    Is this set up properly?

I am not sure to be honest, but agree it seems unnecessarily laborious - will have a look.

    GOGD -

I spoke to the tech team. Response is as follows:

The login credentials are for the forums and we will allow that login to carry over to a variety of features. So, you do need to have an account and be logged in to contribute in the forums but you do not need to be logged in on the blog side to post a comment. When it comes to comment-posting on the blog, it's not an actual login, just gathering some details if the reader wishes to be notified of new posts and follow up comments. We've looked at other options for comments but they still wouldn't tie into our forums login. So, for the time being, yes, they need to reenter their name and email each time they comment.

Hope that explains it, even if it doesn't necessarily resolve the issue.

It does, and it's as expected. Thanks for checking.
