On 31st March 2016 Aer Lingus is ending its FF programme "Gold Circle". The company will move to a new programme called "AerClub" and as expected will involve Avios.

AerClub will have four new membership tiers: Green, Silver, Platinum and Concierge. Each tier will have a unique combination of reward and tier benefits, which may include priority check in, priority boarding, lounge access, complimentary upgrades and bonus points earning. Entry into each tier will be determined by a certain level of tier status points.

With AerClub, the more you spend on flights with Aer Lingus, the more Avios points you will collect. The move away from traditional air miles model means you will be able to earn points with every flight you buy, giving you more opportunities to build up your balance.

I have yet to see a FF programme change that has been a bonus to its members and have no doubt that these changes will auger badly for some of the present GCC members
