It was announced back in October that, from 18th January 2021, it will no longer be possible to transfer Tesco Clubcard Points to British Airways Executive Club Avios. Avios was always a decent value Clubcard redemption option (600 Avios per £1), providing about 2.4p per 1p of Clubcard voucher face value, but I like to do a bit better than ‘decent’.

Some of my favourite redemptions in the past were Uber and the train ticket booking site Red Spotted Hanky, which both offered 3x face value. With those now long gone, the best value in terms of real money saved on something I would otherwise pay cash for, has been Now TV – which also provides 3x face value. That partnership is due to end on 31st January 2021:

“Unfortunately, NOW TV will leave the Clubcard scheme on 31 January 2021. You will be able to exchange your Clubcard vouchers until this date and any vouchers you receive must be redeemed before the expiry date included in your latest email.”

Now TV offers various TV passes for Entertainment, Movies, Sport, etc. Sport is by far the most expensive (full price is £33.99 per month, though you can often reduce it to £20-25), but can be well worth it – particularly if you like cricket. Add on Entertainment and Movies and you could end up paying ~£50 per month, so being able to use Tesco Clubcard vouchers definitely helps take the sting out of it.

Bottom line

I’ve personally had a good experience using Tesco vouchers with Now TV and have topped up m account quite significantly. Note that there are some complaints on the Clubcard website too though, so do make sure that you read the terms carefully, as there are some restrictions.

Terms

You won’t be able to use NOW TV credit if you’re a NOW Broadband or Combo customer.

If you’re billed for your Passes by anyone other than NOW TV, you may not be able to use credit to pay for NOW TV Passes or devices. NOW TV credit exchanged from Tesco Clubcard vouchers can only be used to make NOW TV purchases on selected devices. Converted Clubcard vouchers will be displayed as credit in your NOW TV account which you can use to purchase any NOW TV products on nowtv.com (excluding NOW Broadband). If a purchase exceeds the amount of credit available on your account, the credit/debit card saved on your account will be used to pay the outstanding balance. Month Passes auto-renew at the standard price unless cancelled, and you can cancel at any time. When a Pass renews, any available credit on your account will be used first for the monthly payment, with any remaining balance paid by credit/debit card. NOW TV credit is non-transferable and expires 36 months after the date it was last added or used. You can convert a maximum of £50 of Clubcard vouchers to £150 NOW TV credit in a single transaction.

The Clubcard vouchers exchanged into NOW TV credit can only be used on the NOW TV Website and cannot be used on Tesco.com or in-store.
