Sometimes Groupon sells out of the 2,000 Avios packs before anybody notices. But a new offer has been available for awhile and, miraculously, there still appear to be 2,000 packs available. As always, you will be buying Avios for an Iberia Plus account.
The price per Avios is the same as usual:
- 2,000 Avios for 19 euros (0.95 euro cents apiece)
- 4,000 Avios for 59 euros (1.48 euro cents apiece)
- 8,000 Avios for 99 euros (1.24 euro cents apiece)
- 15,000 Avios for 189 euros (1.26 euro cents apiece)
- 20,000 Avios for 249 euros (1.25 euro cents apiece)
- 35,000 Avios for 439 euros (1.26 euro cents apiece)
You are allowed to buy 1 of the 2,000 Avios packs, and 5 of the 4k, 20k and 35K packs and 10 of the 8K / 15K packs. (way too complicated for me but if you need loads of Avios you can obviously get them…)
Here is the direct link for the Groupon offer, although you don’t want to use it…
You want to go to the Iberia website and set your country settings to Spain in the top left-hand corner. Then you want to visit the IberiaPluStore. (which works exactly like your usual cashback or airline shopping portals) There you will find Groupon as one of the options. If your transaction tracks correctly, you will receive 13 Avios per euro (117 Avios) along with your 2,000 Avios from Groupon.
When you arrive at Groupon, you might arrive at the wrong page. Simply set your city to Madrid and type Avios in the search bar; that should take you to the current offer.
Once you have managed to purchase a Groupon voucher, you will need to exchange it for your Avios. Groupon must have become fed up with queries from abroad, as it now explains all in English…
Do you still buy 2,000 Avios every time? Or has your appetite for Avios been sated by those 90,000 bonus Avios?

Some of the Avios packs are a bargain so despite having had problems in the past I bought Groupon vouchers for 2000 and 4000 avios a few days ago and completed the form to redeem each pack. I got no acknowledgement message though and have to hope I completed the transfer requests correctly. Is there usually a confirmation or do we all have to hope the requests went through OK?

Good question. I’m in the same situation. I just tested my Groupon voucher and I didn’t get the expected error messages for having already used it. I’d leave it a week and see whether the Avios arrive, before chasing Groupon or resubmitting the form.
