I was checking my American Express account last night and noticed a couple of interesting new Amex hotel offers, totalling up to a £75 discount if you take advantage of both.

The first is £50 off a £200 spend with Melia Hotels, so long as you checkout (or pay in advance) by 26/10/2017.

You can have a look at the list of participating Melia hotels here and it includes the 5 star ME Hotel in London.

The terms for this one state that you need to pay at hotel checkout and stay at participating hotels by 26/01/18. Full list of participating hotels here.

Both offers limit the statement credit to once per card member.

How to register for the Amex hotel discounts

If you have an American Express card issued directly by American Express (Gold/Platinum, SPG, BA/BAPP etc), login to your American Express online account, click on the “offers” tab and then click on “save to card” when you see the discount/s you want.

If the offer isn’t on your account yet, I’d wait a couple of days because it can take a while for Amex to add them sometimes, and then if it still isn’t there I would send a quick message asking if they could register you. Technically some of these offers are supposed to be targeted, but Amex is usually pretty good about adding them as a courtesy if you request it.

If you’re going to be making a direct booking with Melia or SLH anyway, then obviously yes!

You can also click through to Melia Hotels fro TopCashback for an additional ~7% rebate, which is great because the thing I really like about American Express statement credit offers is that the discount comes after you’ve been charged, so can be stacked with any other sort of discount or cashback available.

Always consider whether you might be better off booking through Hotels.com or a similar site though.

Melia terms

SLH Terms

• Offer excludes prepaid spend. To be eligible for the statement credit, spend must be made at the checkout of a participating hotel.

• Only one £25 statement credit per UK Card for the first 15,000 to save.
• Offer not valid on transactions made using payment aggregators including, but not limited to PayPal.
