The Hilton Copenhagen Airport is the only hotel directly connected to the terminal buildings. A covered walk way, just before the metro line in to the city takes you through to the Hilton, right opposite the check-in desk. Another option is to exit the terminal on the right, just before the escalators up to the metro, and cross the road at the lights. You cannot miss the Hilton.
The reception desk is usually busy but the staff are fairly efficient so it normally clears after a few minutes. The main part of the hotel, including the restaurant and bar, are on the ground floor and the area is full of dark natural woods. There is on site parking.
The lifts take you up to your floor. As you exit the lifts you look right in to the open atrium which runs through the centre of the hotel. It’s pretty spectacular and marks the change to the light airy bedrooms.
The rooms themselves have relatively small windows, but the area is brightened by light colours and plenty of lighting.
The heavy curtains and blackout blinds are effective if you need to get a nap after a long trip. The hotel is pretty reasonable about Diamond HHonors members upgrades. In three stays last year I secure an excellent upgrade once, a one category upgrade once and no upgrade on my third stay. The sofa does convert in to a bed if needed.
The bathrooms are really a jewel of the property – featuring both a bath and a separate shower.
There is an Executive Lounge at the hotel, and on most of my stays I was granted access. On one they refused as they were busy and have me breakfast in the restaurant. The lounge is on the top floor and has expansive views. They offer breakfast (see pictures below) and snacks in the evenings. It is open all day for coffee and soft drinks. There is usually someone in attendance to assist if there are questions. A good range of newspapers are available in multiple languages.
The restaurant breakfast buffet was huge – a massive range of hot and cold items. Breakfast starts at 5.30am which is great for early flights. Before that they have a selection of rolls and coffee/juices for very early departing passengers.
It is as easy to get to the airport as it was to get to the hotel with the walkway (5-10 minutes) preferable on windy and wet mornings.
All around a solid hotel whose rates reflect its excellent location. Service can be variable but never awful!
