Always good to see a new FF Forum / website, just a couple of questions:

Is there any link between the UK site and the US version (apart from the name :), )
Any plans to bring the US tools to the UK.

And finally any plans for something similiar to the fabled Premium Membership they have in the US?

    Cheers
    Andy

Thanks for your interest in the site. At the risk of sounding a bit too much like someone in marketing, we hope to be more than just a "new FF Forum/website" and, specifically, a "new and dedicated UK-focused FF Forum/website".

    To answer your questions:

    UK/US site link

There is a definite link between the UK site and the US site. While the UK site is independently authored and edited, we are in regular contact with the teams at insideflyer.com (and indeed .de, .nl etc). InsideFlyer is designed to provide a global, but locally-targeted network of frequent traveller sites. One of the great things about this is not just a pooling of resources and know-how, but also the ability to roll-out the website tools and apps across the network.

So, to the extent anything appears on the US or other European sites that is of use to the UK market, rest assured it will be snapped up.

We also benefit from the greater gravitas and bargaining power of the global brand, of course, and that will be reflected in the deals, offers, tools and information we make available to you.

Finally, having various global experts monitoring exactly what happens on the UK site will ensure our content remains of the highest possible quality.

    Premium Membership

    Yes. Watch this space.

Hi, I really think it would benefit from being single sign-on across the different IF websites. That way if someone from another IF comes across a thread they can contribute to - or wants to discuss something away from home they can do so, without the pain of registering.

Also, people would be able to benefit form bringing their post counts with them across sites.

Finally given that they are separate sites (quite apart from whether it is single sign on) I think the masthead graphics should include something that identifies the site more clearly. I.e. "inside flyer UK" and etc. Just so that someone who lands on one of the pages form a web search and who uses one of the sites doesn't get confused about why they can't find things, and their login doesn't work etc.

Just some thoughts (I mentioned this to someone at the launch event).
