If you’ve been reading Insideflyer UK over the last few months, you’ll be very familiar with the fact that you can now convert Nectar points to Avios, and vice versa. This has led to a number of opportunities, with one of the fundamentals being that an Avios is now always worth 0.8p to spend in Sainsburys (or Argos, M&S or on ebay).

Bag yourself 100,000 Avios

However, now is a very good time to convert your Nectar points to Avios. In addition to the 0.625 Avios you’ll receive per Nectar point (250 Avios per 400 Nectar points), if you convert the minimum 400 Nectar points into 250 Avios, you’ll be entered into a competition to win one of 181 prizes from a prize pot of 2 million Avios.

I am not quite sure how the prize allocation work – there’s clearly a prize of 100,000 Avios, but beyond this I am not sure how the remaining prizes (of the 181 available) will be split.

No risk entry – you may as well do it

The key point here is this is a no-risk, no commitment competition entry. If you decide you want your Nectar points back, you can just convert them from Avios after 28 July!

The draws will take place by 1 September 2021 and the winners will be notified by 8 September 2021 via email. Any Avios you win will be credited to your British Airways Executive Club accounts within 28 days of being notified of their win.

Note that you can enter a maximum of 20 times – so that’s 20 conversions of 400 Nectar points to Avios.
