American Express offer regular discounts for card holders, often including money off restaurants, hotels and transport – which is great for savvy travelers. The latest offers have just been loaded and there are some decent ones, including £20.00 off Eurostar when you spend £60.00+.

If you have an American Express card actually issued by American Express (BA, SPG, Gold/Plat, Nectar etc), the easiest way to access the offers is simply to login to your account, click on offers and then click “save to card” for each of the offers you would like to select.

If your American Express card is issued by MBNA/Barclaycard/Lloyds, or for some reason the offer isn’t showing on your American Express account, you should be able to sign up using the link to the Amex Connect below:

£20.00 off Eurostar when you spend £60.00 or more

“Save to Card to get a £20 statement credit on a transaction of £60 or more on tickets when you book online at Eurostar by 24 July 2016. Valid once per Card.”

We wrote a few months ago about how the Eurostar to Paris or Brussels was only £29 each way, and those prices are actually still available – even in the middle of August!

You may be thinking that £58.00 Return is no good for the Amex offer as you have to spend over £60.00. ‘Fortunately’ Eurostar charge a hefty £3.00 fee for paying with a credit card, so by registering for the offer and using your Amex, you can get Return tickets to Paris this summer for £41.00!

If you don’t live in London and are coming from The North, remember that you can currently get half price train tickets between Leeds and London (from £7.25 each way!).

I’ll be covering some of the other American Express offers later this week, but with the summer holidays fast approaching, I thought I should share this one straight away!

Anyone know if Eurostar still sell gift vouchers from their station ticket offices? Could be a good way to lock in the saving for future trips if so…

Cheers for being the guinea pig! – gift cards have always worked in the past for me for other companies with amex offers, the only concern is that Eurostar could theoretically have a different payment mechanism for e-vouchers than they do for tickets (unlikely but possible). Intrigued to hear the result either way!

I’ve read the terms and it states that the vouchers are sold by a different company – ‘Voucher Express’. For that reason, don’t think it will work. Shame.
