We have long sung the praises of TopCashback. Not only do they offer a very easy way to earn cash rebates on things you would buy anyway, you can also cash that money out as Avios. You’ll get 1.05 Avios per penny you convert, so effectively pay 0.95 pence per Avios. While that’s not spectacular value, it is a good way of “buying” relatively cheap Avios if you’re looking to build your balance.
Certainly, it’s substantially cheaper than buying directly from British Airways.
Boosting earnings with a sign-up bonus
One of the most appealing elements to TopCashback is its sign-up bonuses, which basically gives new TCB users 100% cashback on certain purchases, up to a set maximum (usually £10). This allows you to make a purchase, get full cashback on it, and then (should you choose) cash that rebate out as Avios.
For example, one of the offers flagged below is 100% cashback at Hotel Chocolat up to £10. In this case, you could buy a £10 box of chocolates, you’d then receive £10 cashback into your account, and could then cash that out as 1050 Avios.
Our personal favourite at the moment is the £10 cashback you’ll get at eBay for spends of £10 and over. eBay is a Nectar partner, so not only would you get the cashback, you’d also get Nectar points on the purchase too, which now convert to Avios!
M&S and Boots are also offering the £10 cashback for spends of £10 and over.

You fail to mention that these are all only for new accounts. It’s hard to conceive of someone into points who hasn’t had a TCB account for years…
