At InsideFlyer, we’re big fans of Christmas / Advent Calendars and Competitions! Hopefully you’ve all noticed our own Christmas Calendar, which is giving away some amazing prizes every day this month. Luckily, we’re not the only people who like them, and quite a few other Travel companies are running their own. We think we’ve probably got the best mix of prizes and chances of winning though!

First up, as we’ve already covered, IHG hotels have brought back Iggy for this year. Sadly though, there’s no “points for entering” this time, so you’ll need to get lucky and win on their daily competitions. It’s not too tough to enter (when their Captcha system isn’t broken…), and you can normally find the answers on our forum. For more info and entry details, see our dedicated IHG Iggy post

Next, who doesn’t like a bit of Danish hygge? SAS, the Scandinavian airline, are offering 24 different unique winter trips to Denmark to experience it! There’s a different trip to win each day, along with a bit of info on the hard-to-pronounce Danish way of making the winter happy. You can find out more and enter daily at findinghygge.dk

Our friends over at Virgin Red are this month running “The 12 Vaults Of Christmas. Every day there’s a little question to answer for points, along with their normal daily This-of-That, weekly Quizes etc. The prizes for December on offer include 4 Hot Air Balloon flights, 3 Weekends Away, 300 bottles of Wine, a £3000 Virgin Holidays voucher, and for top scorers, 40,000 Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles!

If the Virgin Red app is new to you, we’d suggest you have a look at our Virgin Red introductory post from this summer. Then, with the Virgin Red app installed, the 12 Vaults Of Christmas is the first item in the menu each day and impossible to miss.

Nectar are giving away 200,000 nectar points each day with their Santa’s Secret Giveaway advent calendar. You need to answer a short question, generally taken from Nectar’s Santa letter.

Accor, the hotel chain behind Sofitel, Mercure, Novotel, Ibis etc, have launched two different advent calendars. Sadly, neither of them is technically available to UK residents…

The first is aimed at French residents. Their Calendrier fin d’annee seems to offer some good prizes, but is geo-locked, so you’ll either need to be in France to enter, or have a suitable VPN. If you win anything, expect to have to communicate in French too! Maybe one to skip….

More promisingly is Accor’s US-based “31 Thank Yours”. This is technically aimed at US residents, but given Accor’s poor IT we think you’ll probably get away with it over here. Each day there’s a little quiz, getting it right seems to offer you some Accor Le Club points (crediting in January). There’s also a grand prize each day, but due to US Tax Law on Competitions, you really don’t want to win one, as the paperwork to claim is almost impossible and you’ll really struggle unless you have family with a US address! Hopefully you’ll still get the normal points from the quiz though. To sign up and enter each day (after 9pm US time, so mid-afternoon here), head to 31thankyousbyleclubaccorhotels.com

Spanish chain Melia have fairly quietly launched their “White December” prize draw. This allows you to enter once a day, but isn’t quite as calendar-y. However, you can win some decent prizes including Melia Rewards points, by picking a hotel and hotel room each day. To play daily (assuming the site isn’t in a sulk and claiming you entered when you haven’t….), the place to be is whitedecember.es

Currently, that’s all the ones we know about, but we’re bound to have missed one or two! If you’ve come across another one, please let us know in the comments below!
