The clocks have gone forward, spring is in the air, and it’s time for the various hotel chains to announce their Q2 promotions! First to try to win your business is Club Carslon, the chain behind brands like Radisson Blu, Park Plaza and Park Inn. Club Carlson have just announced their promotion valid until the 30th of June.

Unlike their overly complicated Q1 promotion, this time is very simple. For all stays from yesterday (3rd of April) through to the end of June (30th), you’ll earn Triple Gold Points. On top of that, to try to get you to stay on weekends, you’ll get an additional 5,000 bonus points Gold Points for each Sunday and Monday night stayed during the period.

Often, hotel chains trying to get extra weekend stays offer extra points for stays involving a Friday or Saturday night. This one could be quite good for those of you travelling on business, as you can get a bonus 5,000 points for a Monday night (or a Sunday for those taking a long weekend or similar)

The top-end Radisson Blu and Quorvus Collection hotels go for 70,000 gold points per night. A Park Inn in a regional UK city will tend to set you back about 30,000 points per night. The odd un-loved property can be as little as 9,000 points for a night!

You ought to be able to fairly easily get about 0.3-0.4p of value per gold point, so the 5,000 point weekend night bonus is roughly worth £15-£20. A £50 Sunday night stay would earn you about 3,000 points with the triple points offer, and another 5,000 for the weekend night, so around £24-£32 worth of points back! Not quite enough for a mattress run, but certainly worth considering if you needed a hotel anyway.

There’s a limit of 100,000 bonus points from the promotion per member, and cash+points or points bookings don’t count. You’ll need to have registered before your first stay.

You must be a Club CarlsonSM member to participate in the “Triple Points + 5K” Promotion (“Promotion”). In addition to Triple Points, once you are registered you will earn 5,000 bonus points for each Sunday and Monday night during an Eligible Stay. Stays that include both a Sunday and a Monday night are eligible for two (2) bonus awards of 5,000 points for a total up to 10,000 bonus points. Consecutive nights at the same hotel are considered one stay regardless of the number of check-ins and check-outs. If the Eligible Stay includes more than one Sunday or Monday night, the 5,000 bonus points for each additional night will be added to the member’s account at the end of the promotion period, up to the 100,000 point maximum.*

Bonus points earning for the entire Promotion (Triple Points plus 5,000 points for Sunday and Monday nights) will be capped at 100,000 points per member. Bonus Gold Points will be credited to the member’s account when the standard Gold Points are credited for the Eligible Stay and will usually be posted to a member’s account within 5 days after the Eligible Stay has been completed.
