The ability to transfer freely between Nectar and Avios at a decent rate is one of the best things that’s happened in the points/miles world here in the UK over the last couple of years. It means there are effectively now many more ways to collect Avios, and provides a ‘floor’ value of 0.8p for those Avios (the value you can get by transferring to Nectar and spending at Sainsbury’s/Argos/eBay). It also means that occasional bonus point opportunities crop up that otherwise wouldn’t…
For example, if you convert just 1,600 Nectar points to Avios, you can receive double Nectar points at Sainsbury’s until the end of the month.
If you sign up to auto-exchange, you could earn double points at Argos too.
You can read the full terms and conditions below, but the only thing I can see that you really need to be aware of is, “Eligible participants will only receive 2x Nectar points if, at the end of campaign period, the points conversion has not been reversed”
This is a quick and easy way to earn double Nectar points / Avios on your shopping this month. Just make sure that you don’t reverse any transfers before the end of June.
The offer takes place from 18th May to 30th June (“Campaign Period”). Customers must be 18 years old or over and be a member of British Airways Executive Club (“BAEC”) and a Nectar account holder (“Eligible Participants”). Eligible Participants must link their BAEC account and Nectar accounts to convert their Avios into Nectar points or their Nectar points into Avios. A minimum of 400 Nectar points is required to make a conversion of Nectar points into Avios. Nectar points can only be converted into Avios in increments of 400 Nectar points. Eligible Participants will accrue 250 Avios for every 400 Nectar points converted. Conversions can take place across multiple transactions, Eligible Participants must have converted a minimum of 1600 Nectar points by the end of the Campaign Period to be eligible for double Nectar points.
Manual conversion of points offer:
Eligible Participants who manually convert a minimum of 1600 Nectar points into Avios within the Campaign Period will receive 2x Nectar points when shopping at Sainsbury’s from the date of meeting the minimum of 1600 Nectar points convention (“Qualifying Conversion Date”) for the next 30 days. Eligible participants will only receive 2x Nectar points if, at the end of campaign period, the points conversion has not been reversed. For information on how to convert your points visit www.nectar.com/brands/british-airways. Collect 2x Nectar points on transactions made in store and online at Sainsburys.co.uk for 30 days from your Qualifying Conversion Date. 2x Nectar points will be credited to Eligible Participant’s Nectar account within 28 days from 30 June. Minimum £1 spend and Nectar swipe required. Online orders must be delivered on or before the end of the customer’s 30 day 2x points period. Delivery charges apply. There is a £25 minimum basket value on any grocery online order, excluding the delivery fee. 2x Nectar points applies to base points only and not to bonus Nectar offers. Auto-opt-in conversion offer:
Eligible Participants who sign up to auto-exchange process within the Campaign Period or those who are already signed up to auto-exchange process prior to the Campaign Period and convert 1600 Nectar points into Avios within the Campaign Period will be eligible for 2x Nectar points on when shopping at Sainsbury’s and Argos for 30 days from their Qualifying Conversion Date. Customers who opt out of the auto-exchange service before end of the Campaign Period will not be eligible for 2x Nectar points.
