Lufthansa Miles & More has been emailing members with details of a bonus mile promotion. For flights between 1 September and 15 October, 2019 you can receive:

• 1,000 bonus miles for your first 2 flights within Europe
• 2,000 bonus miles for your next 2 flights within Europe
• 2,000 bonus miles for your next 2 flights within Europe

You can receive a maximum of 5,000 bonus miles.

Not all flights qualify however. This promo only applies to travel on LUFTHANSA that starts or ends in Birmingham (BHX), Edinburgh (EDI), Glasgow (GLA), London (LHR, LCY) or Manchester (MAN).

However if you start / end in the UK and connect via Frankfurt or Munich to elsewhere in Europe, you would pick up 2 flights for the outbound portion of your trip, and another 2 flights for the return portion.

Confused? Yeah… it’s not simple. But essentially the maximum 5,000 miles requires:

• 1 return trip to Germany + 1 return trip connecting in Germany to elsewhere OR
• 3 return trips to Germany

The Bottom Line

Between the short travel period and the restrictions on qualifying flights, this promotion will be hard to take advantage of. But it’s still worth registering if you can…
