If you do not have an Aeroplan account yet, sign up using this page here and you will receive 1,000 bonus miles after your first “accumulation transfer with an eligible Aeroplan partner”. I see no reason why a transfer from Marriott Bonvoy (or other hotel programmes) wouldn’t trigger the bonus.

Note that your first transfer has to be completed within 60 days of opening your Aeroplan account, and it might take up to 8 weeks for you to receive the bonus miles.

Conclusion

If you were thinking about transferring to Aeroplan while the current 30% transfer bonus is on and haven’t created an account yet, this is a nice little additional bonus.
