I confess to occasionally exaggerating my headlines slightly for dramatic effect, but on this occasion I think I am entirely justified.

First there was air miles for air travel, then car rental. Now we have… jogging.

That’s right. Runners at the Authentic Athens Marathon 2018 on the 11th November 2018 will earn Aegean Airlines Miles+Bonus miles for competing at the event, at the following rates:

• Marathon Race – 4,200 award miles
• 10km Road Race – 1,000 award miles
• 5km Road Race Morning – 500 award miles
• 5km Road Race Afternoon – 500 award miles

To benefit from these “leg miles”, you simply log into your Miles+Bonus account using this link, and will be redirected to a form which requires your Marathon ID or BIB number. The applicable award miles will then be credited to your Miles+Bonus, upon successful completion of your run.

Aegean Airlines may not be everyone’s preferred choice of Star Alliance member, but it has offered a great way to Star Alliance elite status.

I fully appreciate not many people reading this will be taking part in this event, or indeed collecting Aegean miles, but I thought this was a great way to encourage people to be more active, and earn reward miles for doing so!
