IHG (International Hotel Group), the company behind hotel chains like Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Hotel Indigo, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites and Even Hotel, have just launched a flash sale. You can book until Sunday, but the App-only head-start runs just until tomorrow (Thursday). That said, we’d suggest booking ASAP, as the best hotels are going fast!

There are over 600 hotels on sale, around Europe with many in the UK. All stays need to be between 1st December 2017 and 28th February 2018, but everything has to be booked on the App and booked by tomorrow (2nd November). You can read a very small amount on the sale on the IHG website

What you’ll actually want to do though, to see the list of hotels, is head to this special microsite on the IHG mobile site. That shows everything available at £39 / €39, £59 / €59, £79 / €79 and £99 / €99

If a hotel catches your eye, you can’t book from your computer though. You’ll need to have installed the IHG App on your phone / tablet. Either launch the app and pick the flash sale banner in there, or browse to the sale microsite on your phone’s browser. Pick the hotel of interest, and click to be taken back to the app.

Now for the annoying bit – you can’t just see every date with the sale rate! Instead, you have to enter your dates, search, then pick another date if your first choice shows up at full price.

(On Friday 3rd it should be possible to book these flash sale rooms on the website, not just the IHG App which is having a head-start on the sale. In theory that may make it easier to find availability, but based on what we’ve seen today with hotels selling out, there might not be any rooms left by that point…)

At the £99 price, there’s a whole bunch of very nice Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo hotels in central London available. £79 gets you nice Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo hotels in many other UK cities. If you’re looking for some winter sun, there’s a few decent hotels in Southern Europe around the Mediterranean for only €59!

As another idea, the Holiday Inn Express in the centre of Lille is available for only €39 many nights. It’s right by the excellent Palais des Beaux-Arts museum, a short walk from all the sights, handy for the Christmas Markets, and under 90 minutes on the Eurostar from London.

If you book for before the 31st of December, it’ll count for the Accelerate Autumn / Winter promotion. Play it right, and you could get enough points for a very nice hotel stay off only two €39 cheap nights!
