You can earn a free night (8,000 Choice Rewards Points) for every 2 stays between now and 31st July 2017, with the new Choice Hotels promotion.
Note that the promotion headline states you will earn a $50 gift card after 2 stays, but it’s actually 8,000 Choice Rewards Points – you can then redeem those Points however you like.
Registration is required here. In order to register, your account will need to have an address in the US or Canada, but that doesn’t present a huge difficulty…
There is no limit to the number of times you can earn the bonus Points, but do note that any stays that cost less than $40.00 USD will not count as qualifying stays!
In case you’re not familiar with Choice Hotels, it is actually one of the largest hotel groups in the world with 6,400+ hotels (mostly in North America) divided into the following brands: Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cambria hotels & suites, MainStay Suites, Suburban, Econo Lodge, Rodeway Inn, Ascend Hotel Collection.
The way the promotion works is that after every second qualifying stay (one night stays are fine, so long as the nightly rate is more than $40.00) your account will be topped up with a minimum of 5,000 and a maximum of 8,000 bonus Points (depending on how many base points were earned from your stays) to ensure that you always earn at least 8,000 Points in total from every 2 stays. You can read the full FAQs about the promo here.
8,000 Points is enough for a free night at ~1,500 Choice hotels, and some of the 8,000 Points ones are actually pretty good!
Bottom line
We have seen this Choice Hotels promotion, or a variation of it, many times now over the years. Given that Choice Hotels are often very reasonably priced (and the good value Points redemption options available in Scandinavia), this is actually potentially mattress run worthy in some circumstances. If you have some Choice stays coming up, don’t forget to register!

The terms and conditions say “You must maintain an address in the U.S. (including U.S. territories) or Canada to be eligible for this promotion” (all Choice promotion seems to have this requirement, yet always get covered on international blogs like they are open for every one). – How do you guys on insideflyer.co.uk get around this? Presumably the writer of this article i based in the UK and is not eligible for the promotion?
When I (denmark) try to register the site says, “this promotion dose not exists”. Do youuse have a fake US address on you Choice account?
What am i missing?

Hi Jens,
Sorry! Yes – I thought I’d included that line but must have edited it out. Exactly, I just use a US address for these sort of things (I usually use a hotel or a friend’s). I’ll update the post now.
It’s also worth mentioning that stays anywhere in the world do qualify towards the promotion, once you are registered.
