The excellent Heathrow Rewards loyalty scheme has just launched a 50% bonus on transfers to Avios. The offer runs until 1 March, and applies to transfers to British Airways Executive Club and Avios.com.

You will therefore earn 375 Avios when you transfer 250 points.

Is This Worth It?

This is a solid deal, although not one that I’d put everything on hold to take advantage of. Etihad Guest, for example, has offered 100% transfer bonuses in the past.

That said, Heathrow Rewards points are worth 1 pence in “hard cash” at Heathrow (2 pence for Heathrow parking) so you are effectively buying Avios at 0.67 pence each. That’s a pretty good deal based on my approximate valuation of Avios at 1 pence each.

Anything else?

Note that this Heathrow Rewards bonus is stackable with the Etihad and Avios-driven sign-up bonuses we have previously flagged. As such, you can earn 1650 Avios as a bonus on a £75 spend, or 4650 Avios as a bonus on a £150 spend.

The 50% Heathrow Rewards bonus will only apply on transfers from Heathrow Rewards to Avios. If you transfer to any of the other airline partners, you’ll only (currently, at least) get 1 air mile per Heathrow Rewards point.
