While you’ll regularly get solid discounts on long-haul Business Class if you look hard enough (honourable mentions to Etihad and Finnair here), few airlines come anywhere close to the superb prizes regularly offered by Qatar Airways in their frequent mega-sales.

The good news is, another Qatar Airways sale has just come along (and if you miss it, just wait a week or two…). The deal is simple: buy two Business Class tickets and you’ll get up to 40% off some already pretty low prices.

The UK flight option

You can go for the boring, straightforward option, and simply fly from the UK. If you do so, there are some reasonable deals to be had, notably:

• Goa at £1390 return per person
• Dubai at £1320 return per person
• Krabi at £1630 return per person

The real value – ex-EU

However, for the serious value, you need to “reposition” your starting point and travel from outside the UK. Yes it’s a bit more hassle, but the savings you can potentially make are fantastic, with long-haul return flights for as low as £793 (Pisa to Dubai).

I suggest you have a good old play around on the site to see what starting points (and of course destinations) work for you, and what the prices are. By way of a head start, however, here’s some Business Class return prices that caught our eye:

• Pisa to Dubai at €879 per person
• Berlin to Dubai at €1019 per person
• Pisa to Bangkok at €1059 per person
• Amsterdam to Abu Dhabi at €1079 per person
• Berlin to Bangkok at €1169 per person
• Berlin to Singapore at €1169 per person
• Frankfurt to Johannesburg at €1229 per person
• Berlin to Maldives at €1449 per person
• Amsterdam to Tokyo at €1519 per person
• Milan to Hong Kong at €1569

The only negative, of course, is that the plunging pound means these low ex-EU prices aren’t quite as attractive as they once were when converted to GBP, but they’re still, without exception, a steal. The Pisa prices flagged above, in particular, are just superb – and you can of course combine them with a weekend in Pisa! 

That’s all very well, but are these “headline” prices actually available?

Yes! We have had a look, and availability is currently excellent (hardly surprising as the deal has just launched, although you may need to move quick. By way of example, here’s an example booking for that fantastic Pisa-Dubai return at €879:
