We have previously sung the praises of the Heathrow Rewards loyalty scheme. With very easy and good value earning and spending options in Heathrow airport (and on the Heathrow Express), it’s worth joining for anyone who uses Heathrow, even occasionally.
Via an offer running until 31 October, you can also earn a decent rebate (effectively amounting to around 5%) on your clothes shopping, too.
Bonus Heathrow Rewards points will be awarded for “fashion” purchases as follows:
- 500 points when you spend £125.00-£199.99
- 1,000 points when you spend £200.00-£299.99
- 1,500 points when you spend £300.00-£399.99
- 2,000 points when you spend £400.00 or more
“Fashion” purchases are deemed to occur when you shop at any of the following stores:
Accessorize, Bottega Veneta, Bulgari, Burberry, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Harrods, Hermes, Hugo Boss, Jack Wills, John Lewis, Kurt Geiger, Lacoste, Michael Kors, Miu Miu, Mulberry, Paul Smith, Prada, Reiss, Smythson, Sunglass Hut, Thomas Pink, Ted Baker and Zara.
Given that prices at these stores at Heathrow are already discounted, there may be some value shopping to be had. You don’t need to sign up to anything to benefit from the bonus, but your Heathrow Rewards card must be presented at time of transaction to benefit from the bonus – I assume that means if you retrospectively try and claim points on the fashion purchase, you will get the standard points (Heathrow Rewards are very good at crediting on production of a receipt by email), but not the bonus.
A Heathrow Rewards point is basically worth 1 pence if you use it for a Heathrow shopping voucher, although you can use it for other purposes, including parking to get a better rate of 2 pence per point, and various air miles at a 1:1 rate.
While we’re on the subject of Heathrow Rewards, it’s also worth flagging that Heathrow Rewards members will get 25% off (including drinks) at Gordon “I used to play for Rangers” Ramsay’s Plane Food at Terminal 5 until 17 October.
