Obviously 1,000 Aeroplan Miles aren’t going to get you very far by themselves, but you can transfer SPG Starpoints or earn Miles from hotel stays through RocketMiles etc.
From Europe, the best deal on the Aeroplan award chart is probably 55,000 Miles Business Class/70,000 First Class one-way to/from Canada + Continental United States, particularly if you’re heading to the West Coast.
You do have to be careful about which partner airline you choose to travel on though, because Aeroplan charges surcharges for some but not others! Brussels Airways, SAS, Singapore, Swiss, Turkish, United and LOT are your best transatlantic options.
