Some very solid offers on Bangkok flights caught my eye today. Bangkok makes a great hub for exploring Thailand (and indeed beyond), so these are deals worth considering if you’re after a Far East adventure.
The first, and cheapest, options involve arranging your departure from a European starting point, as follows:
- Pisa to Bangkok is currently available at a fantastic €1375 return with Qatar Airways
- Amsterdam to Bangkok is currently available at a similarly impressive €1575 return with Qatar Airways
You need to book by 1 July.
While you’re subject to the obvious inconvenience of having to get to your “starting point”, the massive savings you will make as a result generally make the exercise worthwhile here. Plus, as ever, we always suggest you make a weekend of it in the overseas point of departure.
Ok, the current pound-Euro rate isn’t going to help enormously at the moment, but these are still great deals at a 1.20 exchange rate.
Although there is an alternative…
The ever-impressive Finnair consistently offer very competitive prices in Business Class from the UK to Asia.
Courtesy of their current sale (book by 30 June), you can currently get Business Class returns to Bangkok, departing from the UK (Heathrow) for a very competitive £1500. While that’s not quite the spectacular (sometimes sub-£1000) price you can get by starting out of the EU (did someone say “out of the EU”?), it’s still a very good value price, straight outta the UK.
