Many airlines or airline alliances operate schemes which allow businesses to earn points for their travellers, whilst the traveller is able to keep their frequent flyer points. You may have heard of American Airlines Business Extra or British Airways OnBusiness. We’ll look at all of those in the next couple of weeks. But for now, we’re looking at Star Alliance’s version – PartnerPlusBenefit

PPB points can be earned on a number of Star Alliance carriers – Air Canada, ANA, Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Germanwings, Eurowings, Lufthansa, LOT, SWISS, Tap and United Airlines for tickets purchased in Europe. I’ve been using the scheme for a long time and cashed the points in for free tickets and most recently (having stopped flying United) for cash. This appears as a credit to your chosen credit card.

Until 31 March, PPB is offering 25% off on reward tickets and upgrade redemptions on Lufthansa, Germanwings, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, SWISS, LOT Polish Airlines, TAP, United Airlines, Air Canada and ANA.

To earn you simply enter your membership number when you make the booking, or enter the ticket numbers in to the PPB web site. After the flight is flown, the points show up. You need to nominate an Admin who has access to your part of the web site. They can check on points earned and arrange the rewards. You can give this to the person who books travel in your business to do, it’s a simple process but quite valuable. Points usually credit 1-3 months after the flight so don’t expect a quick turnaround – it’s not like your miles posting!
