New members of the ‘Marriott Rewards’ loyalty scheme can currently get two free night certificates after just two stays, by stacking a generous signup bonus with the new Megabonus promotion.

Existing ‘Marriott Rewards’ members can still take advantage of the Megabonus offer and get one free night after two stays.

Assuming you do not already have an account, sign up using this page and you will be automatically registered for one free night certificate after two stays.

After that, just go to the ‘Your Promotions’ section of your new account, click on the ‘register’ button under the Megabonus promotion in the top left, and you’re all set to get a second free night certificate as well!

To earn the signup certificate, you have to book and stay twice within your “earning period”, which runs from “the day you enroll through the end of that month, plus an additional 120 days”.

For the Megabonus certificate, your stays have to be between 1 February and 15 May, 2016.

If you signed up right now (20 January), to make sure you get both certificates, your stays would have to be for dates between 1 February and 15 May as that covers both the signup ‘earning period’ and the Megabonus dates.

It’s also important to point out that two “separate” stays means completely separate stays. It’s not possible to just make two different bookings for consecutive nights at the same hotel, because Marriott’s system would still count it as one two-night stay, rather than two one-night stays.

The certificates can be used at any Category 1-5  hotel, and there’s a great map (massive hat-tip to Drew over at Travel is Free for producing the map!) which allows you to adjust the filters to see only Category 1-5 Marriott hotels.

Category 5 hotels usually require 25,000 Marriott Rewards Points and can easily cost £150-£200 per night when using cash, so the certificates really are are quite valuable.

If you’re struggling to think of good value Marriott hotels to stay at for earning the certificates, most Marriotts in the UK (outside London) can be quite reasonable on Fridays and Sundays if you fancy a “staycation”, and Marriott’s AC brand in Spain is almost always good value if you’d rather get away.

The signup certificate is valid for a year, while the Megabonus certificate has to be used within 6 months – so make sure you use that one first.

Conclusion

Two free nights for two paid nights is a great deal. Pay for relatively cheap stays, use the free night certificates for expensive stays – nice and simple!

You can get 5% cashback through Topcashback for Marriott bookings at the moment. If you do not have a Topcashback account yet, please use our link to sign up as we get a small referral credit and it doesn’t cost you anything (thanks!)
