Travellers can look forward to various Marriott hotel openings in the coming months. The global portfolio of Marriott International is growing significantly. Whether select, collection or luxury brand – especially in Europe and the Middle East, guests can expect some new gems in the future.
In the hope that the travel industry will pick up momentum again later this year, we are introducing some of the most interesting Marriott hotel openings in 2021. Be it Rome, Dubai or Ibiza – there is plenty to enjoy.
Even if travel isn’t possible in the near future, at least the pictures are nice!
Budapest: Matild Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel
The Matild Palace was built during the Belle Époque in 1902 under the patronage of Maria Clotilde von Sachsen-Coburg and Gotha, to serve as the social hub of the city.
The iconic palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, combines a luxurious atmosphere with authentic local experiences. Located in the heart of Budapest and just a stone’s throw from the Danube, the hotel is a spectacular starting point for exploring the city. The hotel is expected to welcome guests in the second quarter of 2021.
Bucharest: The Marmorosch Bucharest, Autograph Collection
The former bank reflects the dynamism, optimism and creativity of the era in which it was built. Known as the “Marmorosch Bank Palace” during its heyday, the building’s design, with its sheer grandeur, timeless elegance, Art Deco interiors and artwork, looks impressive. This energy also runs through the 217 rooms and suites that will receive guests from early summer 2021.
Ibiza: Hotel Riomar, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel
The Riomar, Ibiza, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel will mark the debut of the Tribute Portfolio brand on the Spanish island and aims to create a harmonious connection to the surrounding nature with a hidden garden oasis.
Located on the bay of Santa Eulalia, the stylish retreat is surrounded on one side by crystal clear water and on the other by the idyllic hilly landscape. Here, too, the opening is to take place in summer 2021.
Rome: W Rome
W Rome marks the debut of W Hotels in Italy and is ideally located near the famous Spanish Steps and the fashion boutiques of Via Condotti. The hotel, comprising 162 rooms and suites, extends over two neighbouring buildings from the 19th century on Via Liguria and has one of the few rooftop bars that overlooks Rome.
Gourmets can look forward to a strong culinary offer, for which the Michelin-starred chef Ciccio Sultano is responsible. As the Italian jewel of the Marriott hotel openings in 2021, travellers to Rome can visit the hotel from autumn 2021.
Portugal: W Algarve
The hotel has direct access to three beaches and each of the 134 rooms offers breathtaking sea views.
23 lavishly furnished suites include maisonette suites with private pools and an Extreme WOW suite with whirlpool. The Sky Deck offers sweeping views of the Algarve coast and when the sun goes down, the famous wet deck parties await guests. The opening is planned for the 3rd quarter.
London: The Westin London City
This hotel is the Westin Hotels & Resorts brand’s debut in the UK. The 222 room hotel is nicely located in the heart of London on the Thames and offers panoramic views of the river.
The thoughtful design of the hotel was created under the direction of the British architectural firm Dexter Moren Associates and aims to increase the connection with the natural surroundings. The first guests will be welcomed in autumn.
Dubai: Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah
The hotel is the first resort of the Marriott Hotels brand in Dubai and is located on the beach of the iconic Palm Jumeirah. The city centre as well as the main shopping centres and business districts are just a few minutes from the hotel.
The Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah, Dubai will have 608 guest rooms, eight restaurants and lounges as well as a first-class spa with fitness facilities, a children’s club and a private sandy beach with views of the Arabian Gulf. The opening is planned for autumn 2021.
Dubai: The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm
Located on the “trunk” of the iconic Palm Jumeirah, the luxurious St. Regis Dubai, The Palm will present 289 rooms and suites, an infinity pool on the 50th floor, exquisite restaurants and a roof terrace with impressive views.
Directly connected to the Nakheel Mall, guests have access to 350 shops, a 15-screen cinema and twelve gourmet restaurants. This particular highlight among the Marriott hotel openings in 2021 will also open in the third quarter.
Cairo: The St. Regis Cairo
The St. Regis Cairo is located at the northern end of the Corniche. As the epitome of ‘modern Egyptian glamour’, the hotel has 286 rooms and suites, as well as 80 luxurious apartments. The hotel opened in January.
