Having initially criticised the Mail/Nectar partnership, we entirely put aside all principles when Nectar then partnered with Avios. Suddenly, the Nectar scheme became infinitely more interesting and we scoured the web looking for ways to boost our points balance.
One clear Nectar (thus Avios) earning opportunity is via the MyMail site. This enables you to earn Nectar points when you buy (or borrow) the Mail, by simply entering a unique code from the paper (5 points Mon-Fri, 10 points Saturday and 15 points on Sunday).
The bonuses
In itself, the points earning certainly does not justify the cost (or moral surrender) of buying the Mail. However, MyMail keep hitting me with bonuses which, even if they don’t necessarily justify the cost alone, certainly make it worth seeking out a code from a friend or online (use Google).
I previously wrote about a 150 Nectar point bonus I received for entering three codes. I was more recently offered an 80 Nectar point bonus:
and then an additional 30 Nectar point bonus:
simply for entering one single code.
While I cannot guarantee you will be offered all the bonuses I have been, it is well worth signing up to MyMail to see what they offer you. If you are given a bonus code such as the above, it is well worth making an effort to locate a code to meet the requirements and get the additional points. Bear in mind you’ll also get the 5/10/15 points from the standard offer, too.
