Why You Should Take A Look At Radisson’s New 100% Bonus Point Offer…

Even pre-covid, it was difficult to drum up much excitement about Radisson Rewards, and I’m sure many readers are even less interested in buying hotel points at the moment. But, in some circumstances – particularly if you need a decent hotel in London – Radisson Points can be extremely useful. The new 100% bonus on points purchases is therefore well worth a quick look.

“Purchase points to book your next Award Night stay (or any other reward you want) even faster. Receive a 100% bonus on points you purchase now through June 30, 2020. Points are available for purchase in increments of 1,000 points. Plus, for a limited time only, members can purchase points up to an annual maximum of 120,000 points during the offer period.”

Good deal?

As always, ‘value’ depends on a huge variety of personal factors, but it is definitely worth looking at.

Radisson normally charges ~£5.60 ($7 USD) per 1,000 points, so with the bonus you are looking at ~£2.80 ($3.50 USD) per 1,000. The maximum you can now buy is a total of 240,000 points including the 100% bonus:

The best use of Radisson Reward Points for most readers will be for 5* hotels in central London like The May Fair, Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire, Park Plaza London Riverbank, etc.

These sort of hotels regularly charge £250+ per night, but require only 70,000 Radisson Points. In the current sale, 70,000 Radisson Points would set you back a little under £200, so it can be easy to save a few quid.

More adventurous ‘travel hackers’ might also be interested in the opportunities that Points+Money redemptions can provide, and my personal favourite use of Radisson Points is to make a pure points booking and then arrange a cheap (~£50) cash upgrade to a luxury suite!

Bottom line

This is as cheap as Radisson Points get, but that certainly doesn’t mean it’s a great deal for everyone – particularly at the moment. That said, there is potential value to be had here and Radisson Rewards is a programme that often gets overlooked.
