Hilton Honors Extends its Points Unlimited Promotion Until September

I had been wondering what the major hotel chains will do about bonus point promotions, during a time when most people have completely different priorities. Hilton Honors seems to have taken a sensible approach – to simply extend its current promotion with little fanfare.

Hilton’s “Points Unlimited” will now run until 7 September, 2020.

The promotion is pretty simple. Members will earn 2,000 bonus points per stay, with an additional bonus of 10,000 points after every 10 nights. There is no limit to the number of times you can earn the 2,000 bonus points. However you will have to change hotels every night if you wish to generate additional “stays”.

Traditionally, award stays have also qualified for these bonus point promotions.

This promotion started on 6 January, 2020. So if you became stuck on fewer than 10 nights when most travel ceased – to earn the 10,000 point bonus – you now have more time to pick up any missing nights. Hopefully we’ll be able to travel this summer, even if it requires leaving your passport in a drawer.

Registration is required. You should have already registered, but if not you can click here to be taken to the registration page.

The Bottom Line

Besides being curious about how hotel chains will deal with the current situation, I’m really… excited isn’t quite the word but still… for the lucrative promotions that should be coming in late 2020 and early 2021, once we definitely CAN travel, but need much more incentive than was needed before anybody had heard of coronavirus.

But for now, the extension of this Hilton promotion is better than nothing for those who have essential travel at this difficult time…
