Black Friday / Cyber Monday is nearly here… and that usually means that the major airlines and hotel chains will be putting together their best promotions of the year. And so it is with Radisson Rewards…
Between now and 3 December, 2019, Radisson is offering an “up to” 100% bonus when buying a minimum of 5,000 points. You will have to check your account to be sure, but most accounts seem to be receiving the 100% bonus offer.
You can buy a maximum of 80,000 points per year (or 160,000 with the 100% bonus applied). The maximum 160,000 will cost you $560. (£435). On a per-point basis that’s 0.35 US cents (0.27p)…
When applied to Radisson’s award chart, you end up with these prices.
- Category 1 –> 9,000 points = $31.50
- Category 2 –> 15,000 points = $52.50
- Category 3 –> 28,000 points = $98.00
- Category 4 –> 38,000 points = $133.00
- Category 5 –> 44,000 points = $154.00
- Category 6 –> 50,000 points = $175.00
- Category 7 –> 70,000 points = $245.00
That $245 Category 7 night is £190. It is really quite simple to find a London hotel that costs more than £190…
The Bottom Line
This is the best deal we have ever seen when buying Radisson points. So, if you occasionally stay at Radisson Blu hotels, especially in Scandinavia, this deal can result in a big savings.
Unfortunately, Radisson Rewards have potentially done the worst website makeover in history. They have also stripped most of the value out of their loyalty programme. So it’s hard for me to truly recommend that you make a speculative purchase of Radisson points, even though they might be the only decent hotel in a few places you might like to visit…
