Choice Privileges is currently offering a 40% bonus when you purchase of 5,000 points or more.

Transactions must be completed by 5th December 2019.

Good deal?

If you buy 10,000 or more (pre bonus) points, your cost per point will be about 0.55p each (0.71 cents), which isn’t bad.

Slightly better offers do crop up sometimes though, so if you have no immediate need for Choice Points, I’d probably give this promotion a miss.

That said, Choice Points can be a lot more useful than you might think – particularly in Scandinavia, where prices are often high and representation from other big chains tends to be weak. You can very easily save over 50% compared to the lowest cash rates by buying points in the sale and then redeeming them.

10,000 points, for example, would set you back just~£55 (if you paid 0.55p per point), and that could bag you a decent hotel in Stockholm before Christmas:

Cash rates are more like £120+ per night:

One of the best known examples of the value you can get from Choice Points is ‘The Thief’ in Oslo. Cash rates are regularly over £250 per night:

Or you could pay with points:

20,000 points would cost you the equivalent of ~£110 in the current sale.  Not only that, you could squeeze out a bit of cashback as well – click here for further details.

Bottom line

Buying Choice Points at this price can be a very good deal – particularly for anyone planning a last-minute festive trip to Scandinavia!

Never paid attention to Choice P before.
Thanks for spelling out where it can be useful.

However need a few stays near ARN airport in March. How many points in Clarion at the ARN airport ?

Tells me it can’t be booked on points further ahead than 29 Deb 2020 🙁

Radisson Blu wants £130+ direct, or £75 via an aggregator/reseller !!! And is a daft amount of points compared to the booking.com / hotels.com etc… price – although fair value against the price Radisson want directly !!!!!!!

One of the ‘quirks’ with choice is that you can’t book points stays more than 100 days in advance, unfortunately.

Depends on your perspective… I find it more irritating when award space is long gone before I get around to booking travel 3-4 months in advance. So if the space is practically guaranteed to be there 100 days out, I’m pretty happy…

That said, Choice Privileges is definitely a struggle to figure out.
