British Airways Executive Club has announced a new promotion – called Unlock Exclusive Reward Flight Access – that is aimed at its most lucrative customers.

BAEC members must register and then fly FOUR return trips on British Airways long-haul in Club World or First Class. This must be completed before 12 February 2020. (long-haul for this promotion does not include Amman, Beirut, Moscow, Tel Aviv)

Any member who manages this will receive one Exclusive Reward Flight Access redemption reward for up to 5 passengers on the same booking, to be booked between 28 February 2020 and 30 April 2020 to fly until 31 October 2020. However only a limited number of seats will be available on the following dates: 27-29 March; 3-5 April; 22-23 May; 17-19 July; 23-25 July, Inbound 17-19 Apr; 30-31 May; 28-31 Aug.

What does Exclusive Reward Flight Access actually mean? BAEC Gold Guest List members often refer to them as “jokers” – i.e. the ability to spend Avios despite the absence of award availability.

Registration is required. You can do that by clicking here.

Despite the apparent absurdity of a promotion whose only benefit is allowing members to actually use the Avios they’ve accumulated, it is worth pointing out that:

The Bottom Line

This certainly isn’t a promotion of interest to me, or I suspect the vast majority of InsideFlyer readers. But I’m sure that those who travel frequently with British Airways long-haul will appreciate the freedom to use their Avios during 2020.
