Marriott Bonvoy has released details of its latest bonus point promotion, to be called “Endless Earning”. The promotion will run from 2 July until 16 September, 2019.

Endless Earning is very straightforward. Bonvoy members will earn 1,500 bonus points for stays of 2 nights or longer.

All Marriott hotels are participating and you will earn bonus points starting with your first stay.

Registration is required. You can register by clicking here. (if the link doesn’t work, just log in to your Marriott Bonvoy account and visit the “Promotions” section)

What Else?

Do award stays count? No they don’t. That said, it wouldn’t hurt to charge something to your room that results in earning points during your stay. You might get lucky…

What If I Stay Longer Than 2 Nights? You will only receive 1,500 bonus points. A “stay” is always defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/checkout activity, so there’s no point splitting a 4-night stay into two 2-night stays. (unless you are willing and able to book two nights in your name and two nights in the name of a travelling companion)

How Much is 1,500 Points Worth? Not much… I reckon that 1,500 Marriott points is roughly worth £9. For a two-night stay that is close to irrelevant…

The Bottom Line

If you have some Marriott paid stays this summer, 1,500 bonus points is better than nothing, so make sure to register. But Marriott’s lack of imagination and generosity is unfortunate, given the substantial issues loyal members have been suffering through…

This is extremely poor, even by the paltry standards of Marriott Bonvoy. They’re starting to act as if they’re a monopoly.

I agree with you about Hilton – their attitude to devaluations means I could never make it my primary program – and IHG has terrible status recognition, so Marriott remains the default choice for me but it seems they’re taking the mick with ‘promos’ like this!
