If you already have elite status with a particular hotel loyalty programme, one of the best things you can do is leverage it to get status with other hotel programmes via a status match – that way you can receive elite benefits wherever you choose to stay! We’ve written about this many time in relation to Hilton Honors and others, but PointsOfArabia recently flagged an offer I hadn’t noticed before from Rotana Rewards.

Rotana Rewards is the loyalty programme for Abu Dhabi based Rotana Hotels (Rotana, Centro, Rayhaan, Arjaan and The Residences) – one of the biggest hotel groups in the region. The hotels (Rotana has 100+ in 26 cities) generally look pretty good and the prices can be excellent, especially out of season.

Right now, Rotana Rewards is offering status matches  – all the way up to its top ‘Platinum’ level. The offer is open to elite members of Marriott Bonvoy, IHG Rewards, Hilton Honors, Accor Le Club, and possibly others too. The benefits, particularly for Platinum, are excellent, as you can see below:

Conclusion

Applying for a status match only takes 2 minutes (you should hear back within 7 days), so even if you you don’t have any immediate plans to visit the Middle East, I’d say it’s still worth doing.
