BA’s oneworld partner airline LATAM is offering some fantastic Business Class fares between Lisbon/Porto and Sao Paulo – starting at just £438 one way:
Availability looks good (midweek) through to February 2020. You can use Google Flights to see availability quickly and easily, then book with Momondo / SkyScanner / etc.
As you can see below, as well as flying direct, you could choose to route via Madrid or Barcelona if you’re looking to maximise BA Executive Club Tier Point earnings.
Flights in the other direction look to be about £550, so you could book a return for under £1,000.
If you credited a direct Lisbon-Sao Paulo one way flight to British Airways Executive Club, you should earn ~6,500 Avios + 140 Tier Points. If you included a sector to Madrid/Barcelona, you’d pick up another 40 TPs.
Alternatively you could credit to Alaska Mileage Plan and earn ~10,500 Miles, which I would value at about £180, making these fares even better!
Bottom line
I’ve flown LATAM Business Class a couple of times and was quite impressed – it’s a solid product, and for the price is surely unbeatable!

Wow, I wish I could do this. If I knew what I know now 10 years ago and all that…

It’s worth highlighting that ex-Brazil reward flights don’t have surcharges. So buy this one-way fare then use your Avios to get home on BA or Iberia…
Joe Deeney says
Yep – I really should have included that in the post.

No, you were right to leave it out. Whilst the BA website avios availability page shows a minimal £20 or so charge, when you click next that shoots right up up £155 on the next page. i nearly got caught out with it, but was able to transfer avios to IB and boom the same BA flights on there without the charge.

I’ve flown BA First from Sao Paulo before using Avios (admittedly a few years ago) and there were definitely no surcharges. I can’t quite remember if I had to ring to get that sorted properly though maybe?

It looks cheaper to fly Business Class compared to Economy. You sure this isnt an Error Fare?
Joe Deeney says
Yeah, it’s a tremendous price but definitely not an error fare.
