I got an email from Radisson Rewards (formerly Club Carlson) recently, offering a 30% rebate when redeeming Points at a large range of hotels.

According to the terms, the offer seems to be targeted and only available to members who received an email about it, so have a quick look in your spam folder etc to check if you got one.

Stays need to be booked by July 10, 2018, and must take place between July 3 and September 30, 2018, 

To be eligible for the Promotion, you must:

• “Be a Radisson Rewards member
• Have received a private email invitation to participate in the promotion (“Eligible Member”)
• Redeem points for an Award Night(s) stay within the booking and consumption window referenced above within any one of the “participating properties”. Both the check-in and checkout date of the Award Night stay(s) must occur within the Promotion Period in order for to be eligible for the Promotion.”

There are over 60 participating properties, mostly in Europe, but with a couple in the Middle East and South Africa too. The participating hotels in the UK are listed below with the standard number of Points required per night listed on the right:

As you can see, getting 30% of the Points back could result in some very good value redemptions, like the Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt in London (Kensington) for 35,000 Points per night.

Details to be aware of…

The terms appear contradictory as to when exactly you’ll receive the Points rebate, but what is clear is that it will certainly be after the stay has taken place (and possibly after the end of the promotion). You don’t get the Points back instantly after redeeming.

The Rebate only applies to “Award Night (hotel room) stays and does not apply to other reward option redemptions” – Points + Cash redemptions are not eligible for the rebate, and I wouldn’t recommend booking anything other than standard rooms.

Members may book multiple stays within the Promotion Period of the Promotion.

Bottom line

This is an interesting promotion from Radisson Rewards – and hopefully marks the start of more innovation from them in future, as it’s a difficult programme to get excited about at the moment.

Terms

“Rebate” promotion (“Promotion”) for a thirty percent (30%) rebate of the points redeemed for a booked and consumed Award Night(s) (“Rebate”). Promotion is non-transferable. By participating in the Promotion, you acknowledge and you agree to these terms and conditions. Promotion is valid on Eligible Award Night(s) stays booked from July 3, 2018 through July 10, 2018, with Award Night(s) stays consumed from July 3, 2018 through September 30, 2018, (“Promotion Period”) at select participating properties, including Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson RED and Park Inn by Radisson in Europe, Africa and Middle East hotels (collectively, “Participating Properties”). Both the check-in and check-out dates of the Eligible Night(s) must take place during the Promotion Period.

To be eligible for the Promotion, you must: (i) be a Radisson Rewards member; (ii) have received a private email invitation to participate in the promotion (“Eligible Member”); and (iii) redeem points for an Award Night(s) stay within the booking and consumption window referenced above within any one of the “participating properties”. Both the check-in and checkout date of the Award Night stay(s) must occur within the Promotion Period in order for to be eligible for the Promotion.

To redeem points for an Award Night stay visit. Members should sign into their accounts to verify they have enough points to book the Award Night Stay prior to booking. For this “Promotion”, Award Night stay(s) begin at 15,000 points at Category 2 hotels. Please see hotel category for more information on the number of points needed to redeem for an Award Night Stay by category of hotel. Hotel Categories are subject to change at any time and at Radisson’s sole discretion.

The Rebate will not be awarded at the time of booking. The Rebate will usually be posted to a member’s account within 1-2 weeks after checkout of the Eligible Award Night stay’ after the stay has been completed. The Rebate only applies to Award Night (hotel room) stays and does not apply to other reward option redemptions. Members may book multiple stays within the Promotion Period of the Promotion. The Rebate will be credited as Bonus points to the member’s account after the Eligible Stay is completed and will usually be posted to a member’s account within 4-6 weeks after the conclusion of the promotion on September 30, 2018. Bonus points will be visible under ‘My Account’ when you are logged in on www.radissonhotels.com/rewards.

Members may purchase up to 40,000 points per account, per calendar year. Points purchased using this option are non-refundable and will post within 24 hours. All Points Purchase Terms and Conditions and all standard Radisson Rewards Program terms and conditions apply to your purchase and use of points.

Stays or nights paid for by using points + cash are not eligible for the Promotion.
