I’m surprised it’s taken this long into the new year to be honest, but there is now yet another Qatar Airways Business Class sale, with some typically excellent fares available.

You need to book by 16th January 2018 and can travel up until 10th December 2018. The general blackout dates are from 9 June until 10 September 2018, but there might also be some country specific ones too, depending on where your flight originates.

There is a promo code (PCGTBGIFT) that can theoretically get you an additional 5% discount. I haven’t had consistent luck with it myself, though obviously it’s still worth trying!

The stand out fare this time is from Helsinki to Bangkok for ~£1,010 return:

Oslo to Sydney for ~£1,484 return is excellent too:

£1570 from Oslo to Auckland isn’t bad at all either, though availability seemed quite limited on that one when I looked.

Other fares include:

  • Sofia to Singapore:~£1,040
  • Stockholm to Kuala Lumpur: ~ £1,200
  • Helsinki to Chiang Mai: £1,050
  • Helsinki to Krabi: ~ £1,190
  • Tunis to Kuala Lumpur: ~£930

As usual with Qatar Airways Business Class sale fares, you might be able to squeeze some bigger discounts by booking for 2 people at the same time, and/or beginning your trip in one city (eg. Oslo) and ending in another (eg. Stockholm).

I don’t live in Norway/Finland/etc…

Fair point –  but it’s cheap and easy to hop over these days from almost all parts of the UK.

Craig has written a great piece on ‘positioning’ to take advantage of cheap fares, what the possible pitfalls are and how to avoid them.

Anything else?

You can earn ~ 26,900 Avios (to Sydney) and 600 Tier Points by crediting these flights to British Airways Executive Club. We covered this in detail for a previous sale – have a read because all the essential elements are the same even if the specific examples are different.

Qatar has also recently introduced a free stopover service including a night in Doha at a 4*-5* hotel.

Qatar Airways Bargain Bottom line

These aren’t the best ever Qatar fares we’ve seen, but they are still very good – even when you take into account the expense and hassle of positioning yourself.

Qatar Airways offers one of the best Business Class experiences in the sky, and you’ll earn a load of Avios and Tier Points too!
