Starwood Preferred Guest has announced the end of its partnership with Uber. SPG members can still earn Starpoints for Uber rides up until 11:59pm EST on 17 December, 2017. (i.e. 4:59am on 18 December for those preferring to live according to GMT)

The SPG / Uber partnership launched in 2015 and the earning rates were reasonable (up to 4 Starpoints per $ spent on your ride). I found it especially appealing to earn extra Starpoints when using Uber in conjunction with a stay at a Starwood hotel. Even though earning rates were cut earlier this year, it was still a nice little bonus for SPG members.

Even though you only have about 6-7 weeks to to advantage, it’s worth reminding readers of the partnership. SPG members earn Starpoints in the following ways after they link their accounts and have one qualified stay at a SPG hotel during 2017:

• Whilst staying at a SPG Hotel – Members will earn two Starpoints per US$1 spent with Uber
• When not in-stay – Members will earn one Starpoint per US$2 spent with Uber
